Thoughts:

March, April, and May were great months for original material. Lots of memorable short stories and two very hefty ones over 10K.

Things fell apart in June, despite the hefty wordcount for that month. At the end of May, Rich tantalized me with the idea of collaborating on zines, so I started the Dr. Phil Horror Zine and Gasmasc, wrote multiple stories for both. But Rich's work schedule kept him from following through with his part (no fault of his own), so none of those stories have been published. I still had some good writing juice in me through June and July -- some great fics were posted, I started Slow Walk, and I knocked out some killer horror stories for Gasmasc. Looking back, I guess I saw June and July as "waste" months because fics, stories earmarked for zines, and unfinished manuscripts don't hit the same as a spate of finished shorts that can theoretically be submitted anywhere at any time.

In August, I met up with Alex, Ben, and Gregor and re-started school, and quickly fell into a prose slump. I remember nothing of the stories I wrote this month. In September, I struggled to finish my horror story for the anthology and avoided my other writing obligations. Poetry, however, really exploded, was lots of fun and very productive.

In October, I sweated through a painful zine fic. Dove coaxed me into doing Imptober with her, and while it was like pulling teeth at first, I found my groove and wrote some pretty good fics. Energized again, I started playing with a dark romance novel, but lost my juice when the cover artist I commissioned ghosted me.

In November, I kept focusing on my poetry and kept my prose writing to just fics, all of which turned out excellent. And in December, my juice came back full-swing and I started blitzing through Slow Walk while also writing lots of fun poems, a commission, and a Severance fic.

It comes out to somewhere north of 247,697 words for the whole year. Next year I'll have to date my poems and type them up so I can see how they fall.
