In Hillsborough County, FL, Shakespeare will no longer be taught in entirety, only excerpts, due to the "raunchiness" in his works -- and also because (according to the school district) they're moving away from requiring students to read books in completion. Instead, to expose kids to a greater number of writers, they'll be focusing on excerpts rather than reading entire books.

School board member Jessica Vaughn said:

“Honestly, it feels that much of this is intentional, in order to cause as much chaos in public education as possible, so that the collapse of public education is swift and the agenda of education privatization can move forward with less obstacles."
