I stayed at the office for a good 5-6 hours outside of interviews to work on my source chart for Rhetoric class... and I'm going to have another 5-6 hours of work tomorrow, I think! I only made it through Part 1 and a tiny fragment of Part 2, and I still have to start Part 3 and Part 4.

Part 1: Research the authors and publications of each source to check for bias. Look up their funding and note it all down. Then analyze the use of pathos, ethos, and logos in each source.

Part 2: Summarize the contents of each source, then write your "conversation notes" about what YOU got out of it, whether you agree or not, and why.

Part 3: Take two strong claims and two weak claims from each source and analyze what makes them a sound argument or an unsound argument.

Part 4: Use Parts 1-3 to write a complete outline for the argument from analysis (persuasive essay) we'll be writing over the next two weeks.

Exhausting....

I did take advantage of the office computer to print out my sources though, so that was nice. Loved being able to physically underline and highlight shit XD

At home, my roommate brought home tacos from the little taqueria down the street! We watched a random 50s movie on Tubi -- The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T, a sort of trippy, low-budget kids' film about a boy who hates his piano lessons, and gets sucked into a nightmare where his piano teacher is an evil dictator. It's written by Dr. Seuss, and the landscapes are very Seuss-y -- the lyrics, too, for better and for worse! There's this triumphant music number in the middle where the dungeon-dwellers march onscreen with their Seuss-y instruments, all of them bedecked in green bodypaint and tattered suits. The piano teacher is delightfully queer-coded, which culminates in a Queen Shit villain song at the end all about the wonderful outfit he's going to wear as he enslaves 500 boys to be his music-minions.

The lead is great. Phenomenal acting and singing for a kid so young (I haven't looked up whether he's dubbed over yet lmao). Also, this movie is so fucking ugly and colorless lmfao. Almost all the sets are just a bland boring gray, with strange pops of color from the wardrobe department.

Now we are watching Crimson Peak again -- he was upset to miss it yesterday.
