I hit 50K today for the July Camp NaNoWriMo!

I'm not going to link to the original/unpublished work that helped me get there but here are some TNG fics I wrote along the way:

Home -- 1217 words, Ro Laren-centric gen: It's an old Bajoran superstition. They say that when you finally find your home, you can feel the Prophets take your hand and coax you forward. Ro Laren's spent her entire life waiting for that gentle squeeze.

Chance Encounter -- 370 words, gen. On a diplomatic mission, Odan crosses paths with a man she's never met before -- a man she knows very well.

When the Rain Slows -- 22,880 words, Riker-centric gen. There's nothing odd about the group of Humans who greets the Enterprise crew on Denali II. All of them are upstanding civilian scientists and strategists; none of them are dangerous. So why is it, when Counselor Troi reads Commander Riker's emotions, all she senses is shame and fear?

Noli Me Tangere -- 44,468 words (only two chapters were written during July, though). The Enterprise's first officer has been missing for over a year when a malnourished, heavily scarred sex slave on a nowhere-planet called Ipsand puts up a distress signal ...using a Starfleet combadge.

Imzadi -- 692 words, Riker/Troi. Eight years ago, Will Riker was left for dead on Nervala IV. He was never stationed on Betazed; he never became the first officer of the U.S.S. Enterprise. But in time, the Enterprise finds him, nonetheless. And so does Deanna Troi.

Absent in the Spring -- 21,785 words, Riker/Picard. It's been one year since Jack Crusher died. The Stargazer has just been sent to Ulmanon, where a deadly STI is plaguing the planet. Here, Captain Picard is surprised to find a human boy working in the sex trade. A boy with connections to Starfleet and a cartel brand burned into the back of his hand. A boy from Valdez, Alaska.

The Enterprise Gets a Sex Change -- 1703 words, gen. All it takes is a snap of the fingers from Q.

Starlines -- 2676 words, Riker/Picard. Abandoned at fifteen, Will Riker is forced to make his own way in life. That means getting a job, finding some personality trait or innate skill he can exploit for credits so he doesn't get tossed out in the Alaskan snow. And, well, the first thing that comes to mind is ... sex.

The Drowned Girl -- 2409 words, Deanna-centric family gen. The night Thad is born, Deanna has a nightmare. For fifteen years, the nightmares never stop.

Earl Grey, Hot -- 3144 words, Riker/Picard. Will Riker handles even the grumpiest customers with style.

Huh. Well, adding these up, it looks like I actually hit 50K a while back -- not counting Noli, because I'm too lazy to check the individual chapter counts. I must have forgotten to put a few of these fics into the NaNo counter. But I'm happy to celebrate today! I'm satisfied with all these fics for now, no particular regrets.

(regrets spending the first 50K of NaNo working on fics instead of original work)
