Good haul!
Apr. 14th, 2023 03:57 pmLove this place -- like I said, it's inside the old liquor store, and it's super informal. Records and CDs and used tape players everywhere. Local zines and comics, boxes of old Asimov's magazines, shelves of used music books. My record player's broken so I went straight for the CDs and the owner said he actually had a whole lot of bags in his car that he just got today, so he went out and got them for me that way I could pick through em before anyone else got them.
They have a good selection of vintage clothes for sale, and a wall of tapes. The owner pointed out some local metal bands for me and a good Italian band too. While I was in there, someone came in looking for beer, and one of the clerks said that happens literally every day, which will make my roommate feel better, because he did that months ago and it's the only reason why I know this record store exists XD

The metal bands -- Chardonnay and Colossal Man are local. I doubt Feticide is because I've actually heard of them. Mirage is Italian.

The Cds (and you can see some of my TNG tapes in the background XD). I was REALLY stoked by the selection! Teenage me would go insaneeeee finding CDs like this in a store. When I was growing up you were lucky to get rock or like, really mainstream metal like Metallica and AC/DC. I remember losing my mind when I found a Joan Jett CD as a kid, and driving over an hour to get to the city so I could find Green Day.
They had:
Scissor Sisters - Ta-Dah
Tin Machine - self-titled
Stone Temple Pilots - Core
Radiohead - Airbag/How Am I Driving?
Queens of the Stone Age - Villains
Primus - Suck On This
Leonard Cohen - More Best Of
Really great stuff. And with used prices it was just $34 for everything.
